RECOMMENDATION(S):
Recommendation
That the Board of Supervisors:
1. Authorize the Humboldt County District Attorney, or a designee thereof, to accept, and execute any and all documents necessary to secure, grant funding made available by the California Governor's Office of Emergency Services through the Child Advocacy Center Program;
2. Approve the attached supplemental budget for FY 2018-19 in Fund 1100, Budget Unit 211, Child Abuse Services Team Program (4/5 vote required); and
3. Direct the Clerk of the Board to provide the attached supplemental budget to the Auditor-Controller's Office.

DISCUSSION:

On June 18, 2018, the California Governor's Office of Emergency Services awarded the Humboldt County District Attorney's Office grant funding through the Child Advocacy Center Program in order to allow for the continued operation of the county's Child Abuse Services Team Program. The grant funding made available through the Child Advocacy Center Program will be used to update equipment, provide personnel training and fund a 1.0 full time equivalent Victim Witness Program Specialist position that will be assigned to the Child Abuse Services Team.

Accordingly, staff recommends that the Board authorize the Humboldt County District Attorney, or a designee thereof, to accept, and execute any and all documents necessary to secure, the grant funding made available by the California Governor's Office of Emergency Services through the Child Advocacy Center Program.
