RECOMMENDATION(S):
Recommendation
That the Board of Supervisors approve the donation of one (1) Dodge Truck to the County Motor Pool for capitalization, maintenance and insurance purposes.

SOURCE OF FUNDING:
North Coast Regional Department of Child Support Services Fund.
DISCUSSION:
The North Coast Regional Department of Child Support Services (NCRDCSS) requested the purchase of the vehicle. Purchase of the vehicle was included in the Fiscal Year (FY) 2017-2018 budget for NCRDCSS, budget unit 1380-206. For the purposes of capitalization, maintenance and insurance NCRDCSS would like to donate the vehicle to the County Motor Pool.
FINANCIAL IMPACT:
Expenditure appropriation for the vehicle and County Motor Pool costs were included in the approved FY 2017-2018 budget for NCRDCSS, budget unit 1380-206. There is no anticipated County General Fund Impact.
The donation of the vehicle supports the Board’s Strategic Framework by managing resources to ensure the sustainability of services that protect vulnerable populations.

ALTERNATIVES TO STAFF RECOMMENDATIONS:
The Board can choose not to approve this donation; however NCRDCSS does not support this alternative because it requires the department to make arrangements for maintenance and insurance that can be more efficiently and economically provided by County Motor Pool and Risk Management.
