RECOMMENDATION(S):
Recommendation
That the Board of Supervisors adopt the revised class description and title for the class of Assistant Director of Library Services to Assistant Library Director (class 0655, salary range 493, unit 08) into the classification plan effective immediately; and adopt Resolution No._____(attached) approving the Amendment to the Compensation Plans for Management and Confidential Employees July 1, 2017 - June 30, 2020 to include the revised job classification of Assistant Library Director (class 0655, salary range 493, unit 08), effective immediately upon Board approval.

DISCUSSION:
The recommendation included in this agenda item concern the continued reorganization of the Library, including a proposed revision to the job class of Assistant Director of Library Services to serve as administrative direction and oversight for major functions and activities of the County Library System. The perpetual changing demands and growth in services provided by the Library support the need in revising the current job class of Assistant Director of Library Services, which will support and build upon the continue efforts in the reorganization of the Library.


FINANCIAL IMPACT:
There was no change in the compensation; therefore there is no financial impact as a result of this action.

The agenda item is establishing the revised classification of Assistant Library Director, not the allocation.

The Library Department will return to the Board of Supervisors with their request for an allocation of Assistant Library Director.
