RECOMMENDATION(S):

Recommendation

That the Board of Supervisors adopt the Resolution Rescinding No. 16-112 and Amending the current Conflict of Interest Code.

Body

SOURCE OF FUNDING:

No funding is necessary beyond already funded staff time.

DISCUSSION:

The Political Reform Act requires that the County’s Conflict of Interest Code be reviewed every two years. The County’s Conflict of Interest Code requires an amendment to incorporate minor modifications required by law.  The Board’s adoption of this Resolution will incorporate the amendments to the Political Reform Act into the County’s Conflict of Interest Code.  The modification to Appendix B fulfills this legal requirement as well.  Any positions or committees that have been deleted are stricken and any additions have been underlined.

FINANCIAL IMPACT:

None

OTHER AGENCY INVOLVEMENT:

None

ALTERNATIVES TO STAFF RECOMMENDATIONS:

The Board could choose not to adopt this resolution.  This alternative is not recommended because it would leave the County with an inaccurate Conflict of Interest Code.
