SUBJECT:
title
Approve Extension of License Agreement for Humboldt Trap and Skeet Club Facility at California Redwood Coast-Humboldt County Airport
end

RECOMMENDATION(S):
Recommendation
That the Board of Supervisors authorize the Department of Public Works staff to sign and execute the attached letter (Attachment 3) granting the Humboldt Trap and Skeet Club a 3-year extension of its license agreement.

Body
SOURCE OF FUNDING:
Aviation Enterprise Fund

DISCUSSION:
The Humboldt Trap and Skeet Club (HTS) is a non-profit corporation that has operated a trap and skeet club on a portion of the California Redwood Coast-Humboldt County Airport property for more than 50 years. The 2013 license agreement between HTS and county allowed for two 3-year extensions (Attachment 1). HTS exercised their first option to extend the agreement in 2015. The HTS is now requesting to exercise the second and final option (Attachment 2). A new agreement will be required upon the termination of this agreement.

FINANCIAL IMPACT:
HTS's current monthly rate is $257.54; adjustments in revenue through Consumer Price Index (CPI) will occur in November and every year thereafter for the remainder of the agreement. This option will contribute $9,271.44 + CPI adjustments over 3 years to the Aviation Enterprise Fund.

This item does not affect the General Fund and it conforms with the Board of Supervisors' Strategic Framework, Core Role of supporting business, workforce development and creation of private-sector jobs.

OTHER AGENCY INVOLVEMENT:
None

ALTERNATIVES TO STAFF RECOMMENDATIONS:
The Board may choose not to approve an extension to the license agreement. This is not recommended because it would reduce the Airport's operational revenues.
