DISCUSSION:
The Marshall Ranch has been approved for an agricultural conservation easement from the California Strategic Growth Councils Sustainable Agricultural Lands Conservation Program. This would allow the California Rangeland Trust to purchase a conservation easement covering approximately 2,942 acres adjacent to the community of Briceland. The purpose of this easement is to conserve priority forest and agricultural resources consistent with the goals and policies of the Humboldt County General Plan. The Board of Supervisors would like to thank the Marshal Ranch for meeting the easement criteria and for tremendous team effort in achieving this endeavor.
