The Board of Supervisors has been asked for a letter in support of the California Association of Resource Conservation District’s (CARCD) and their partner, the Humboldt County Resource Conservation Districts (HCRCD) application for funding for the Wildlife Conservation Board’s Climate Adaptation and Resiliency Program.

end

HCRCD has a long history of working successfully with dairy farmers and beef cattle ranchers in Humboldt County.  Conservation Carbon Farm Plans (CCFP’s) are crucial for these producers and for the State’s natural and working landscapes in the face of intensifying climate change.  As such, the Board supports the CARCD and HCRCD’s application to the Climate Adaptation and Resiliency Program to develop CCFP’s with local producers.
