DISCUSSION:
The Humboldt County Audit Committee has an At Large vacancy due to the resignation of John Fullerton.
The Notice of Vacancy has been posted per the Board of Supervisors protocol. A separate agenda item will be brought back to your Board on Jan. 30, 2024, for the consideration of appointment to fill the vacancy.
Applications are available at the Clerk of the Boards office or by emailing COB@co.humboldt.ca.us.
All appointed members will be required to comply with the California Fair Political Practices Form 700 requirements as well as completing AB1234 Ethics training every 2 years.
FINANCIAL IMPACT:
While there is no financial impact to posting a vacancy, the Audit Committee is charged with recommending an independent third party to conduct the annual audit, and by charter may expend up to $50,000 annually for purposes detailed in the committee’s charter.
