RECOMMENDATION(S):
Recommendation
That the Board of Supervisors:
1. Accept the completed contract, including the change order approved by the Public Works Department, between Figas Construction and Humboldt County for construction of Storm Damage Repair to Patricks Point Drive (3N010) Post Mile 1.90; and
2. Approve the final claim for payment, to be submitted by the Public Works Department to the Auditor-Controller, in the amount of $250, which will bring the total amount paid to 100% of the contract.

DISCUSSION:
On Feb. 14, 2017, the Federal Emergency Management Agency (FEMA) declared a disaster for Humboldt County due to severe winter storms, flooding, and mudslides. Patricks Point Drive (3N010) Post Mile 1.90, located near the city of Trinidad in the northwestern portion of Humboldt County, experienced a culvert failure caused by high stormwater runoff flows in McNeil Creek. Emergency temporary repairs were done at the time of the disaster to maintain the drainage system and protect the roadway.
On Sept. 16, 2019, the Humboldt County Department of Public Works (Public Works) received approval from FEMA to proceed with the Patricks Point Drive (3N010) Post Mile 1.90 Storm Damage Repair Project. Public Works prepared plans and specifications based on a topographic survey prepared by Points West Surveying Company and a geotechnical study prepared by Crawford and Associates.
