DISCUSSION:
The Humboldt County Fire Chiefs’ Association Would like to share the 2022 Annual Report which highlights the challenges and accomplishments of the fire and emergency response agencies of Humboldt County. The 2022 annual report can be found on-line at: <humboldtgov.org/DocumentCenter/View/124667/2022-HCFCA-Annual-Report_Final_RFS>.
FINANCIAL IMPACT:
There is no financial impact to hearing the presentation. However, the Board pays for 55% of the costs for CalFIRE dispatch services from the General Fund, allows local fire departments to participate in the county’s worker’s compensation insurance, and regularly allocates Measure Z funding to the fire chiefs association. Some of those investments are described and detailed within this report. In addition, your Board recently approved a 3-year spending plan for Measure Z that includes roughly $1 million annually to fire.
