DISCUSSION:
Simy Rajan, owner/operator of the bed and breakfast located at 118 Dolphin Drive, Whitethorn, California has applied to the Department of Alcoholic Beverage Control for a Type 42 Alcoholic Beverage License. The Type 42 Alcoholic Beverage License is specifically designed for businesses that operate as Bars and Taverns. This license permits the sale of beer and wine for consumption on the premises where they are purchased. It does not authorize the sale of distilled spirits or hard liquor.

On April 15, 2025, Mr. Rajan received the attached letter from the Department of Alcoholic Beverage Control requesting a determination of "public convenience" from the County of Humboldt Board of Supervisors. Upon adoption of the attached resolution, Mr. Rajan will be able to proceed with the approval process.

Supervisor Bushnell has completed community outreach to Mr. Rajan and other license holders within the area and has recommended approval of the attached resolution.
