DISCUSSION:
The Humboldt County Human Rights Commission currently has six vacancies for various district appointments. A notice of vacancy has been posted, and applications are now being accepted. While this item is outside the Board of Supervisors' standard appointment protocol, the number of vacancies on the commission required prompt action.
Appointments to the Human Rights Commission are for four-year terms and the commission typically meets once a month. While appointments are district specific, the Board of Supervisors may consider applicants from any location within the county.
Applications are available from the Clerk of the Board at COB@co.humboldt.ca.us.
All appointed members of this commission will be required to comply with the California Fair Political Practices Form 700 requirements as well as completing AB123 Ethics Trainings every two years.
