DISCUSSION:
Pursuant to Humboldt County Code section 9121-10 (Measure K), the Sheriff's Office presents this semi-annual report which requires that the Sheriff provide to the Board a written report that includes a description of all communications received from the Federal agency charged with enforcement of the Federal immigration law, including but not limited to the number of civil immigration detainers, notification requests, or other types of communications.
In addition, the report is to include a description of any communications the Department made to the Federal agency charged with enforcement of the Federal immigration law, including but not limited to any Department's responses to inquiries as described therein.
To satisfy the semi-annual data reporting requirement for Measure K, the Sheriff's Office is reporting the attached data. Another Measure K report will be presented in conjunction with the annual community forum held pursuant to the Truth Act (Government Code 7283 et seq.) after the next six-month reporting period.
