RECOMMENDATION(S):
Recommendation
That the Board of Supervisors:
1. Accept the completed contract, including all change orders approved by the Public Works Department, between Mercer-Fraser Company and Humboldt County for construction of Storm Damage Repair to Wilder Ridge Road (C5B010) Post Mile 6.11; and
2. Approve the final claim for payment, to be submitted by the Public Works Department to the Auditor-Controller, in the amount of $625, which will bring the total amount paid to 100% of the contract.

DISCUSSION:
On Feb. 14, 2017, the Federal Emergency Management Agency (FEMA) declared a disaster for Humboldt County due to severe winter storms, flooding, and mudslides. Wilder Ridge Road (C5B010) Post Mile 6.11, located near the community of Honeydew in the southern portion of Humboldt County, experienced roadway failure due to the heavy rainfall. The failure included severe damage to a welded wire wall, resulting in complete closure of Wilder Ridge Road and Landergen Road. On March 1, 2017, an emergency construction services agreement was executed to provide residents access to their properties and to maintain essential traffic on Wilder Ridge Road and Landergen Road.
On May 4, 2018, the Humboldt County Department of Public Works (Public Works) received approval from FEMA to proceed with the Wilder Ridge Road (C5B010) Post Mile 6.11 Storm Damage Repair Project.
