RECOMMENDATION(S):
Recommendation
That the Board of Supervisors:
1. Receive and approve the attached Addendum for the ACV Parking Lot Rehabilitation Project;
2. Direct the Department of Aviation to issue and post the attached Addendum to the County of Humboldt Purchasing website, the Humboldt County Department of Aviation website, and to all Plan Set Holders; and
3. Further direct the Department of Aviation to keep the attached Addendum on file in the office of the Humboldt County Department of Aviation Administration Office located at 3561 Boeing Avenue, McKinleyville, California 95519.

DISCUSSION:
On May 16, 2023, your Board approved the bid authorization for the California Redwood Coast-Humboldt County Airport (ACV) Parking Lot Rehabilitation Project. During that meeting, staff indicated that there were potential changes needed to the plan set to ensure compliance with ADA requirements, but due to the tight Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) bid timeline, any potential changes would need to be incorporated in an addendum to the project.

The Humboldt County ADA Team, the Humboldt County Department of Aviation Team, and our airport engineering consultants, Armstrong Consultants, have met multiple times over the past week to incorporate important design details to ensure compliance with the current ADA requirements. Additionally, modifications to the language in the Project Specifications would require that the construction of ADA related infrastructure meets ADA requirements upon inspection. Should any ADA element not pass inspection, it will be reconstructed at the sole expense of the contractor.
