DISCUSSION:
September is recognized as Transit Month, providing an opportunity to highlight the vital role public transportation plays in connecting Humboldt County residents to employment, education, health care, shopping, community services and other essential destinations.
The Humboldt Transit Authority provides a range of transportation services throughout the County, serving communities across a large and geographically diverse region. This proclamation recognizes the dedicated employees who help provide safe, reliable and accessible transit services, as well as the residents who utilize and support public transportation. Recognizing Transit Month also encourages community members to learn more about available transit services and consider the many ways public transportation contributes to the economic vitality, accessibility and quality of life of Humboldt County communities.
