RECOMMENDATION(S):
Recommendation
That the Board of Supervisors:
1. Approve, and authorize the Department of Health and Human Services Director to execute, the attached professional clinical education affiliation agreement with University of New England regarding supervised practical social work at Department of Health and Human Services - Social Services facilities;
2. Authorize the Department of Health and Human Services - Director, or a designee thereof, to execute student placement agreements substantially similar to the attached clinical education affiliation agreement with University of New England, and any amendments thereto, after review and approval by County Counsel, Risk Management and the County Administrative Office; and
3. Direct the Clerk of the Board to return two (2) fully executed original copies of the attached clinical education affiliation agreement with University of New England to the Department of Health and Human Services - Contract Unit for further processing.

DISCUSSION:
The Humboldt County Department of Health and Human Services - Social Services (DHHS - Social Services) and University of New England (UNE) have a need for student placement at DHHS - Social Services facilities for clinical and educational purposes. The attached professional clinical education affiliation agreement with UNE allows for the placement of students enrolled in UNE's Master of Social Work program at DHHS - Social Services facilities in order to fulfill the practical experience requirements thereof.
