RECOMMENDATION(S):
Recommendation
That the Board of Supervisors:
1. Accept the completed contracts, including any and all approved change orders, with Stimpel-Wiebelhaus Associates, Inc., regarding the construction of Storm Damage Repair to Alderpoint Road (F6B165) Post Miles 2.10, 2.70, and 2.98; and
2. Approve the final claims for payment, to be submitted by the Department of Public Works to the Auditor-Controller's Office, in the amounts of $37.50 for Post Mile 2.10, $175 for Post Mile 2.70, and $37.50 for Post Mile 2.98, which will bring the total amounts paid to 100% of the contracts; and
3. Direct the Clerk of the Board to provide the Engineering Division of the Department of Public Works with one fully executed certified copy of the Board order related to this item.

DISCUSSION:
On March 7, 2017, the Governor of the State of California declared a disaster for Humboldt County due to severe winter storms, flooding, and mudslides. Alderpoint Road (F6B165) Post Miles 2.10, 2.70, and 2.98, located in the Garberville area of southern Humboldt County, experienced roadway settlement and shoulder failure due to the heavy rainfall. Emergency repairs were performed at the time of the disaster to maintain essential traffic.
On October 4, 2022, the Humboldt County Department of Public Works ("Public Works") received funding approval from the Federal Highway Administration to proceed with the Alderpoint Road (F6B165) Post Miles 2.10, 2.70, and 2.98 Storm Damage Repair Project.
