DISCUSSION:
Paso a Paso was established in 2001 as a community benefit program at Providence St. Joseph Hospital in Eureka to provide culturally and linguistically appropriate maternal and family health services for clients and families who primarily speak Spanish in Humboldt County. Over the past 25 years, the program has grown into a comprehensive network of education, resources and relationship-based support promoting healthy pregnancies, positive parenting, breastfeeding, child safety and family wellbeing.
The Board of Supervisors is honored to recognize Paso a Paso’s 25th anniversary and its continued commitment to advancing health equity, strengthening families and supporting the wellbeing of Humboldt County’s Latino community.
