RECOMMENDATION(S):
Recommendation
That the Board of Supervisors:
1. Accept the donation of $500.00 Presentation Honorarium; and
2. Accept the donation of an Overdose Aid Kit; and
3. Authorize the Department of Health and Human Services (DHHS)- Public Health Branch Director to accept the donation of an Overdose Aid Kit (OAK).; and
4. Direct the Auditor Controller to deposit the donation of $500 Presentation Honorarium into the DHHS- Public Health Fund (1175), Budget Unit (452).

DISCUSSION:
In June 2025, the DHHS - Public Health Branch, Substance Use Prevention (SUP) staff began working with The Clinton Foundation (TCF). One of TCF's recent initiatives has been in overdose prevention with a focus on naloxone distribution and education. As of today, the organization has distributed over 998,000 doses of naloxone through their Overdose Response Network.

DHHS - Public Health Branch SUP became involved with TCF when the Department of Health Care Services (DHCS) recommended the County of Humboldt as TCF's first rural California county to partner with because of DHHS - Public Health Branch SUP's leadership in rural overdose prevention work. The project that DHHS - Public Health Branch SUP is assisting with is specifically aimed at engaging faith leaders in overdose prevention work through meetings and trainings from June 2025 through June 2026.
