DISCUSSION:
The Grange, founded in 1867 as the National Grange of the Order of Patrons of Husbandry, has played a vital role in strengthening rural communities, supporting agriculture and encouraging civic engagement. For 150 years, the California State Grange has carried forward these values, serving as a statewide forum for farmers, families and rural communities.
This year marks the 150th Annual California State Grange Convention, a historic milestone that highlights the organization’s lasting contributions to California’s agricultural and community life. Humboldt County is honored to host this gathering at Van Duzen Grange #517, welcoming delegates from across the state while providing an opportunity to showcase the county’s agricultural heritage, natural resources and strong community spirit. The Board Supervisors would like to honor this historic event with a proclamation.
