RECOMMENDATION(S):

Recommendation

That the Board of Supervisors:

1.                     Consider making the three at-large appointments to the MMAC.

DISCUSSION:

At the August 20, 2024, Board of Supervisors meeting, the Board was informed of three at-large vacancies on the MMAC due to the term expirations of Maya Conrad, Kevin Jenkins and Kevin Dreyer. The vacancies were posted and applications were accepted.

Current members Maya Conrad and Kevin Jenkins would like to continue their service. Additionally, there are application from Suzanne Lippre, Mary Burke, Clancy De Smet and Steven Thomas attached for consideration. These positions are for a four-year term ending on Sept. 1, 2028.

All appointed members will be required to comply with the California Fair Political Practices Form 700 requirements as well as completing AB1234 Ethics training every two years.

 

FINANCIAL IMPACT:

There is minimal financial impact to appoint a member to this Board.

This action supports the following areas of your Board’s Strategic Framework.

ALTERNATIVES TO STAFF RECOMMENDATIONS:

The Board could postpone the appointments to a new date certain if desired but that is not recommended. The MMAC meets regularly and members are needed to meet the quorum.
