RECOMMENDATION(S):
Recommendation
That the Board of Supervisors:
1. Accept the donation of a Ford F250 4x4 Crew Cab Pickup Truck ("truck") and the donation of aftermarket parts to outfit the truck for law enforcement use from the Center to Combat Human Trafficking; and
2. Approve donating the truck to county Motor Pool for capitalization, maintenance, and insurance.

DISCUSSION:
The Center to Combat Human Trafficking is donating a truck to each of five Northern California counties as part of a collective effort to combat human trafficking in the Northern California region. HCSO will pay for the taxes and Department of Motor Vehicle fees for transfer of the donated truck.
Additionally, HCSO will pay for the aftermarket upgrades needed to outfit the truck for law enforcement, including sounding and lighting. The Center to Combat Human Trafficking will reimburse HCSO for those expenses.
For purposes of capitalization, maintenance and insurance HCSO wishes to donate the truck to Public Works - Motor Pool.
FINANCIAL IMPACT:
The value of the truck is $51,454. The truck will be fully outfitted with required law enforcement lighting and sound. The estimated value of the aftermarket parts being donated is around $20,000. The cost of taxes and fees for this donation is $4,767.91 and will be paid from FY 2021-22 appropriations in budget unit 1100-221, Sheriff Operations.
