Body
STRATEGIC PLAN:
This action supports the following areas of your Board's Strategic Plan.

Area of Focus: Core Services/Other
Strategic Plan Category: 9999 - Core Services/Other

DISCUSSION:
The Humboldt County Measure Z (Roads) Department requested the purchase of one (1) Water Truck (Equipment number 52620) to replace the Water Truck in the fleet that is now out of compliance with State regulations. The purchase of the equipment was included in fiscal year (FY) 2024-25 budget for the Roads Measure Z budget, 1100-298. Due to extensive supply delays the Water Truck was received in the current FY. For capitalization, maintenance, and insurance purposes the Roads Department would like to donate the vehicle to Heavy Equipment.

SOURCE OF FUNDING:
General Fund, Measure Z 1100-298; Heavy Equipment 3540-330

FINANCIAL IMPACT:
Narrative Explanation of Financial Impact:
Expenditure appropriation for this equipment in the amount of $360,399.11, was included in the approved FY 2024-25 budget for the Roads Measure Z, 1100-298. The change in sales tax from 9.25% to 10.25% happened after the quote and before the invoice which created an additional $3,236.62 that was covered by Public Works' Heavy Equipment budget 3540330.

OTHER AGENCY INVOLVEMENT:
Public Works Heavy Equipment

ALTERNATIVES TO STAFF RECOMMENDATIONS:
The Board may choose to not approve this donation; however, this is not recommended as it requires the Roads division to make arrangements for maintenance and insurance that can more efficiently and economically be provided by Heavy Equipment.
