RECOMMENDATION(S):
Recommendation
That the Board of Supervisors:
1. Adopt the attached resolution to change the name of North Coast Regional Department of Child Support Services (NCRDCSS) to Humboldt-Trinity Child Support Agency; and
2. Recognize Bennett Hoffmann as the Director of Humboldt-Trinity Child Support Agency; and
3. Authorize the attached logo and graphics as the official logo and graphics for Humboldt-Trinity Child Support Agency; and
4. Authorize Humboldt-Trinity Child Support Agency to update any existing Contracts to reflect the new name change.

DISCUSSION:
The North Coast Regional Department of Child Support Services (NCRDCSS) was established on December 15, 2015 to administer the local Child Support programs for Humboldt and Trinity County.
On December 21, 2021, the regional agreement was renewed by the county boards of Trinity and Humboldt for a term of 5 years.
In the state fiscal year 2024-25, the California Department of Child Support Services (DCSS) changed the way regional child support departments are funded. This resulted in California DCSS determining the current regional agreement governing the Humboldt and Trinity child support agencies was no longer valid. In January of 2025, the department ended its regional agreement and entered into a shared services agreement. The operational structure of the department has not changed. The department continues to operate as one agency, serving the constituents of Humboldt and Trinity counties.
