RECOMMENDATION(S):Recommendation
That the Board of Supervisors:
1. Approve the attached fiscal year (FY) 2024-25 appropriation transfer in the Amount of $12,502 for Department of Health and Human Services (DHHS) - Behavioral Health (1170424) (4/5 Vote Required); and
2. Direct the Humboldt County Auditor-Controller's Office to establish fixed asset line, 1170424-8986 - Equipment, for the purchase of an industrial freezer with revenue budgeted in DHHS - Behavioral Health (1170424) for FY 2024-25.

DISCUSSION:
The County of Humboldt's Psychiatric Health Facility, Sempervirens, is an inpatient facility providing twenty-four (24) hour psychiatric care, with an in-house commercial kitchen necessary to prepare and serve meals to patients as a basic service required by its licensing authorities, the California Department of Health Care Services and the California Department of Public Health. The freezer at Sempervirens recently failed, making it impossible to maintain proper food temperatures, compromising food safety and quality. An emergency freezer replacement purchase was necessary to maintain required services.
Sufficient funds were budgeted in the fixed asset category of DHHS - Behavioral Health budget unit 1170-424-8998 - Building Improvements to cover this expense.
