RECOMMENDATION(S):
Recommendation
That the Board of Supervisors:
1. Authorize the District Attorney to execute any and all documents necessary to accept, administer and reapply for funding made available by the California Governor's Office of Emergency Services through the Unserved/Underserved Victim Advocacy and Outreach Program (requires 4/5 vote); and
2. Approve the attached supplemental budget for Fund 1100, Budget Unit 291, Unserved/Underserved Victim Advocacy and Outreach Program (4/5 vote required).

DISCUSSION:
On March 10, 2021, the District Attorney's Office was awarded non-competitive annual funding for calendar year 2021 by the California Governor's Office of Emergency Services through the Unserved/Underserved Victim Advocacy and Outreach Program. This award is part of the 2016 competitive grant award of the Unserved/Underserved Victim Advocacy and Outreach (UV) Program which was for a five year non-competitive term. The funding is available through Victims of Crime Act, which are federal funds managed and dispersed annually to eligible counties by the California Governor's Office of Emergency Services. The annual application was approved for the amount of $228,052 in federal funding.
In October 2021, the District Attorney's Office was informed that the five-year non-competitive grant had been extended for the calendar year of 2022 for the UV Program. On October 27, 2021, the District Attorney's Office submitted an application for additional funding in the amount of Two $228,334.
