RECOMMENDATION(S):
Recommendation
That the Board of Supervisors:
1. Approve and authorize Interim Chief Probation Officer, Coral Sanders, to execute the attached professional services agreement with the Boys and Girls Club, Teen Court regarding juvenile diversion services in the amount of $232,619 for the period of July 1, 2023 through June 30, 2026;
2. Authorize the Interim Chief Probation Officer, Coral Sanders, to execute any and all subsequent amendments to the attached professional services agreement with Boys and Girls Club of the Redwoods, Teen court after review and approval by County Counsel, Risk Management and the County Administrative Office;
3. Approve the attached supplemental budget for Probation Budget Unit 202 in the amount of $75,180.

DISCUSSION:
On February 23, 2023, the Multi-Agency Juvenile Justice Coordinating Council (MAJJCC) heard a proposal from Boys and Girls Club of the Redwoods, Teen Court (herein referred to as Teen Court) regarding a 3-year funding request to extend Teen Court programming down into the Eel River Valley. A discussion ensued which included a recommendation that Teen Court attempt to pursue alternative funding for this expansion and return with a proposal and details about funding attempts if that failed to produce funding. On May 25, 2023, Teen Court returned with a proposal and detailed for the MAJJCC the attempts made to secure funding. A vote was taken and the motion to approve this funding carried.
