DISCUSSION:
At the Jan. 13, 2026, Board of Supervisors meeting, the Board was informed of an unscheduled at-large vacancy on the Humboldt County McKinleyville Municipal Advisory Committee (MMAC) due to the resignation of Maya Conrad. The vacancy was posted, and applications were received from several community members. Applicants include Heather Bergan, Asia Brunell, Paul Chamberlain, Clancy DeSmet, Samuel Gregorio, Tere Hicks, Linda Holland, Cassandra Kemic, Gordon Leppig, Suzanne Lippre, Carol Schmitt and Michael Smith.

The at-large appointee will serve the remainder of the existing four-year term, expiring on Sept. 1, 2028. All appointed members of the Humboldt County MMAC are required to comply with California Fair Political Practices Form 700 requirements and complete AB1234 ethics training every two years.
