STRATEGIC PLAN:
This action supports the following areas of your Board's Strategic Plan.

Area of Focus: Safe & Healthy Communities
Strategic Plan Category: 1001 -Support and sustain partnerships between public safety and partner agencies to enhance public safety in our communities

DISCUSSION:
The Humboldt County Sheriff and the CDCR Warden have long recognized that mutual aid and cooperation in response to a natural disaster, critical incident, or other emergency can be strengthened through collaboration. By establishing and maintaining an agreement of mutual aid through the approval of this renewed agreement, both agencies have an improved ability to respond to and sufficiently deal with incidents throughout both jurisdictions, effectively improving overall public safety. An MOU was developed to confirm the framework for this cooperative relationship (Attachment 2).
