RECOMMENDATION(S):Recommendation
That the Board of Supervisors:
1. Adopt the attached resolution authorizing acceptance of a state general fund in the amount of Fifty Thousand Dollars ($50,000.00) for the McKinleyville Incorporation Initial Feasibility Analysis Project; and
2. Direct the Clerk of the Board to return one (1) fully executed certified copy of the attached resolution to the County Administrative Office for submission to the California Natural Resources Agency.

DISCUSSION:
In 2023, the McKinleyville Municipal Advisory Committee ("MMAC"), a committee of your Board, formed the McKinleyville Incorporation Exploration Subcommittee ("MIESC"). The MIESC was formed to look at the feasibility of McKinleyville incorporation, not to advocate for or against, but to gather data to determine if incorporation was feasible.
In 2025, the County of Humboldt and the MMAC received notice that the State of California approved a state general fund allocation in the amount of Fifty Thousand Dollars ($50,000.00) for the McKinleyville Incorporation Initial Feasibility Analysis Project. As the MMAC is a committee of the Humboldt County Board of Supervisors ("Board"), the County of Humboldt is the fiscal agent for these funds.
