DISCUSSION:

The Humboldt Arts Council (HAC), founded in 1966, serves as the county’s leading nonprofit organization for arts and arts education. The HAC operates the Morris Graves Museum of Art and provides programs and services that promote access to the arts for residents of all ages and backgrounds throughout Humboldt County.

Through partnerships with local schools, government agencies and community organizations, HAC supports arts education, including the annual Youth Arts Festival, and provides professional development and resources for artists and arts organizations. HAC also promotes community engagement through public programs, digital outreach, and events such as the Celebration of the Arts.

Renewing HAC’s designation as Humboldt County’s official local arts agency and State-Local Partner will allow the organization to continue pursuing funding opportunities to support arts programming and cultural initiatives countywide.
