RECOMMENDATION(S):
Recommendation
That the Board of Supervisors:
1. Approve, and authorize the County Administrative Officer, or a designee thereof, to execute the attached telecommunications vault lease agreement with the State of California regarding use of the Shelter Cove telecommunications site for the period of Nov. 1, 2022 through Oct. 31, 2029;
2. Approve the attached supplemental budget request for Communications 3521-151 in the amount of $5,816 for fiscal year 2022-23 (4/5 Vote Required); and
3. Direct the Clerk of the Board to provide the Department of Public Works - Real Property Division with one (1) fully executed certified copy of the Board Order pertaining to this item.

DISCUSSION:
The County of Humboldt currently operates an analog, very high frequency conventional radio system dispersed amongst seven (7) remote telecommunications sites. The radio system within these seven (7) remote telecommunications sites are seeing a reduced level of service, particularly with in-building coverage. Due to the general age of the system and its components, some portions of the system may have reached an end-of-life status with regards to vendor support. Motorola has been chosen as the entity to implement the Project Management Plan to upgrade the radio system within the seven (7) remote telecommunication sites located in Humboldt County.
The attached telecommunications vault lease agreement with the state of California will allow for the installation and maintenance of a new radio system within the State of California's Radio Building located in Shelter Cove California.
