RECOMMENDATION(S):
Recommendation
That the Board of Supervisors:
1. Approve and authorize the Chair of the Board and the Sheriff to execute the attached Professional Services Agreement with the Southern Humboldt Family Resource Center for a Youth Prevention Coordinator to provide youth outreach, prevention, and education regarding drug usage, with a focus on cannabis, in the amount of $101,670.00 for the period of July 1, 2022 through September 30, 2023 (attachment 1).
2. Authorize the Chair of the Board, the Sheriff, Undersheriff, or Deputy Director of the Sheriff's department, to execute any and all subsequent amendments to the attached Professional Services Agreement with the Southern Humboldt Family Resource Center, after review and approval by County Counsel, Risk Management and the County Administrative Office.
3. Direct the Clerk of the Board to return one fully executed original copy of the attached Professional Services Agreement with the Southern Humboldt Family Resource Center to the Sheriff's Business Office for further processing.

DISCUSSION:
To meet the goals of the BSCC Prop 64 Grant, the Humboldt County Sheriff's Office (HCSO) is recommending to contract with the Southern Humboldt Family Resource Center for a Youth Prevention Coordinator. The Youth Prevention Coordinator will provide services focused on youth outreach, prevention, and education. They will facilitate various activities that will make a meaningful difference in Southern Humboldt's youth and help foster opportunities to develop the skills needed to become successful adults.
