RECOMMENDATION(S):
Recommendation
That the Board of Supervisors:
1. Accept a donation of two ChargePoint CT4000, dual-port, bollard mounted electric vehicle (EV) charging stations from Redwood Coast Energy Authority (RCEA) for the ACV Parking Lot; and
2. Authorize the Interim Director of Aviation or their designee to sign the Transfer Agreement.

DISCUSSION:
On May 16, 2023, your Board approved the bid authorization for the ACV Parking Lot Rehabilitation Project and found that the project was exempt from environmental review pursuant to Section 15301 of the California Environmental Quality Act Guidelines. Work for this project included replacement of parking lot pay booths with modernized electronic payment and customer service communications equipment, milling and removing dilapidated asphalt surfacing, leveling the surface area for ADA compliance and replacing the asphalt with a new surface. Electrical work associated with this project included new pole locations to conform to the new parking lot spatial alignment and the installation of new EV charging stations.

Electrical engineering design expertise was provided by Cal Poly Humboldt-Schatz Energy Research Center (SERC) and Lochner (formerly Armstrong Consultants). Additionally, Cal Poly Humboldt-SERC Engineers provided technical expertise for installation of the EV charging infrastructure on the project.
