RECOMMENDATION(S):
Recommendation
That the Board of Supervisors:
1. Adjourn as the Humboldt County Board of Supervisors;
2. Convene as the Governing Board of the Humboldt County In-Home Supportive Services (IHSS) Public Authority and consider the following agenda;
a. Receive report from IHSS Advisory Board Chairperson Margaret Lewis
b. Approve recommendation to appoint Timothy Such, Alissa Norman, and Dennis Ohligschlager to the IHSS Advisory Board; and
3. Reconvene as the Humboldt County Board of Supervisors.

DISCUSSION:
On June 6, 2000, the Humboldt County Board of Supervisors adopted Resolution 2000-50 which established the Advisory Board on In-Home Supportive Services as mandated by Assembly Bill 1682. On Sept 10, 2000, the Humboldt County Board of Supervisors adopted Ordinance #2278 (Humboldt County Code section 2213-1 et seq.) which established the Humboldt County Public Authority for In-Home Supportive Services. Section 2213-4 of the ordinance provides that the Board of Supervisors serves as the governing body for the Public Authority. Section 2213-6 provides that the Advisory Board shall report directly to the Public Authority's Governing Board. On Sept. 20, 2005, the Board of Supervisors approved Resolution No. 05-62, transferring the oversight of the In-Home Supportive Services Advisory Board from the Board of Supervisors to the Public Authority Governing Board.
