RECOMMENDATION(S):
Recommendation
That the Board of Supervisors:
1. Approve Grant Agreement # 24-10279 with California Department of Public Health (CDPH), Office of AIDS in the amount of $56,415 for the period of July 1, 2024, through June 30, 2029;
2. Authorize the Director of Public Health, or designee to electronically sign grant agreement # 24-10279, Contractor Certification Clause (CCC 04/2017) and of the Civil Rights Form; and
3. Authorize the Director of Public Health, or designee, to sign any subsequent amendments or documents directly related to Grant Agreement # 24-10279 upon County Counsel, Risk Management, and County Administrative Office (CAO) review and approval.

DISCUSSION:
California Department of Public Health (CDPH)'s Office of AIDS has contracted with DHHS - Public Health since the late 1980's to provide HIV/AIDS services in Humboldt County. The goal of the HIV/AIDS Surveillance Program is to establish and enhance active and passive HIV/AIDS case surveillance in health and social service settings. Goals include improving the timeliness, accuracy and reliability of local HIV/AIDS case data; investigating reported HIV/AIDS cases in order to establish an accurate mode of HIV transmission; and in conjunction with CDPH, Office of AIDS staff, conducting investigations of cases that are of public health importance.
