RECOMMENDATION(S):
Recommendation
That the Board of Supervisors:
1. Declare two (2) vehicles surplus;
2. Authorize the sale of vehicles to City of Ferndale Police Department; and
3. Deposit the revenue from the sale in the Motor Pool Fund.

DISCUSSION:
The following vehicles have been replaced after being fully depreciated and instead of going into the surplus auction, The Humboldt County Public Works Department wishes to direct sale to City of Ferndale Police Department to replace their aging patrol vehicles.

Equipment # 07219 2018 Ford Interceptor
Public Works and the City of Ferndale entered into this type of arrangement with other vehicles in July of 2021, it was a benefit to both parties.

Narrative Explanation of Financial Impact:
Revenue from the sale of the surplus vehicles will be deposited in the Motor Pool budget (3500-351) and used to offset the purchase of replacement vehicles. The revenue covers the salvage value of each vehicle at $3,000 each. Total revenue of $6,000 has been included in the adopted fiscal year 2023-24 budget for Motor Pool Reserve (3500351).
