RECOMMENDATION(S):
Recommendation
That the Board of Supervisors:
1. Accept the CDPH Future of Public Health Allocation for FY 2026-27 in the amount of $926,739 (4/5 Vote Required); and
2. Retroactively Authorize the Department of Health and Human Services (DHHS) – Public Health Branch Director, or designee thereof, to execute the attached CDPH Future of Public Health Funding Annual Certification for FY 2026-27; and
3. Retroactively Authorize the DHHS – Public Health Branch Director, or designee thereof, to execute the attached CDPH Future of Public Health Funding Acknowledgement of Allocation Letter for FY 2026-27; and
4. Authorize the DHHS – Public Health Branch Director, or designee thereof, to execute any and all subsequent amendments, certifications, attestations and documents directly associated with the attached CDPH Future of Public Health Allocation for FY 2026-27.

DISCUSSION:
Starting in FY 2022-23, the California Budget Act of 2022 provides $300 million of state general funds to CDPH to support the Public Health infrastructure at the State and Local levels. Of the $300 million annual investment, also known as Future of Public Health funding, $99.6 million is dedicated for state operations while $200.4 million is annually allocated to 61 local health jurisdictions (LHJs) for local assistance.
