RECOMMENDATION(S):
Recommendation
That the Board of Supervisors:
1. Approve, and authorize the Chair of the Board to execute, the attached professional services agreement with Abound Food Care, regarding State Bill (SB) 1383 Edible Food Recovery Program Management for Humboldt County and participating jurisdictions for the period of Aug. 18, 2023 through Aug. 8, 2024;
2. Authorize the Department of Public Works Director, or a designee thereof, to execute any and all subsequent amendments to the attached professional services agreement with Abound Food Care after review and approval by County Counsel, Risk Management and the County Administrative Office;
3. Direct the Clerk of the Board to return one (1) fully executed original copy of the attached professional services agreement with Abound Food Care, to the Department of Public Works - Solid Waste Division for further processing; and
4. Authorize the Director of Public Works to sign the attached Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) with participating jurisdictions establishing a proportional cost sharing program for Edible Food Recovery manager's work.
