That the Board of Supervisors:
1. Approve the recommended grant requests.

DISCUSSION:
The Fish and Game Advisory Commission issued a Request for Proposal (RFP) on June 17, 2021, for the granting of state Fish and Wildlife code violation funds for RFP’s meeting the requirements of Fish and Game Code 13103. The deadline for the RFP submissions was postmark date of July 13, 2021. RFPs were also sent to all commissioners and prior recipients. At the Commission’s regular July 20,2021 meeting, requests for grants were reviewed and rated based on; benefit to priority fish and wildlife species, ability of the proposer to successfully implement the proposed project, biological soundness of the project, technical merit, and cost effectiveness. The commission voted to recommend the funding as follows:
Application A. Humboldt County Office of Education “Classroom Aquarium Education Program” - $3,000.00
Application B. Natasha Hope Ficzycz, MSC Student, “Measuring Exposure of Domoic Acid in Recreations Humboldt Bay Bivalves along Ocean to Estuary Transects” - $1,500.00
Application C. Micaela Szykman Gunther, Department of Wildlife, HSU “Novel Insights into the Diet of Local Carnivores” - $1,500.00
FINANCIAL IMPACT:
The Fish and Game Commissions budget, 1700-290, allotted $6,000 toward grant funds this year.
