RECOMMENDATION(S):
Recommendation
That the Board of Supervisors:
1. Adopt the ordinance (Attachment A) authorizing an amendment to contract between the Board of Supervisors of the County of Humboldt and the Board of Administration of the California Public Employees' Retirement System (CalPERS); and
2. Direct the Clerk of the Board, within 15 days after adoption of the Ordinance, to publish a postadoption summary of the ordinance with the names of the Supervisors voting for and against the Ordinance, and to post in the office of the Clerk of the Board a certified copy of the full text of the adopted Ordinance and amendments along with the names of those Supervisors voting for and against the Ordinance pursuant to Government Code 25124(b)(1); and
3. Direct the Clerk of Board to provide a certified copy of this order to the Human Resources Department.

DISCUSSION:
On April 22, 2025, the Humboldt County Board of Supervisors introduced the attached ordinance to amend the contract between the County of Humboldt and CalPERS. This amended contract reinstates benefits for employees in the CalPERS Fire-Safety member group, that were inadvertently omitted from a previous contract revision.
