RECOMMENDATION(S):
Recommendation
That the Board of Supervisors:
1. Receive and file the bid proposals submitted for Storm Damage Repair to Mattole Road at Post Mile 17.83;
2. Award the project agreement to Wendall John Gray Construction, for the total amount of $382,153.26;
3. Authorize the Chair of the Board to execute the project agreement with Wendall John Gray Construction upon submittal of the appropriate bonds and insurance; and
4. Authorize the Public Works Director to execute contract change orders up to the amount of $31,607.66.

DISCUSSION:
On Aug. 15, 2023, the Humboldt County Board of Supervisors authorized the Clerk of the Board to advertise Storm Damage Repair to Mattole Road at Post Mile 17.83 for bids. On Sept. 12, 2023, the County of Humboldt received three (3) bids for the project, which are attached hereto as Attachment 1. On reviewing the bid forms, Department of Public Works observed minor computational errors on Wendall John Gray Construction's bid form. These errors have been corrected in the attached construction agreement.
The Department of Public Works recommends that the Board of Supervisors receive and file the bid proposals submitted for Storm Damage Repair to Mattole Road at Post Mile 17.83; award the attached project agreement to Wendall John Gray Construction, for the total amount of $382,153.26; authorize the Chair of the Board to execute the attached project agreement with Wendall John Gray Construction upon submittal of the appropriate bonds and insurance; and authorize the Public Works Director to execute contract change orders up to the amount of $31,607.66.
