RECOMMENDATION(S):
Recommendation
That the Board of Supervisors:
1. Accept the completion of the Conflict Counsel Americans with Disabilities Act Compliance Project, Project No. 2024-402; and
2. Authorize the Purchasing Agent, or a designee thereof, to execute the attached Notice of Completion for the Conflict Counsel Americans with Disabilities Act Compliance Project; and
3. Direct the Clerk of the Board to provide the County Administrative Office - Americans with Disabilities Act Compliance Team with one (1) fully executed certified copy of the Board order related to this item.

DISCUSSION:
On November 7, 2023, the Humboldt County Board of Supervisors ("Board") authorized the County of Humboldt to enter into a commercial lease with the owners of 515 J Street, Eureka, California, to relocate Conflict Counsel from their current location, which is a facility that was specifically listed in the 2018 Consent Decree with the Department of Justice for non-compliance with Title II of the Americans with Disabilities Act ("ADA"). Per the lease terms, the County of Humboldt agreed to remediate site arrival point barriers to access prior to program occupancy.
On June 29, 2021, the Board adopted the Humboldt County ADA Compliance Plan which requires all newly acquired leased facilities be in full compliance with Title II of the ADA prior to program occupancy.
