That the Board of Supervisors:
1. Adopt the Proclamation; and
2. Hear the update and act if needed.

DISCUSSION:
The Board of Supervisors proclaim May 2024 as Older Americans Month. Older Americans Month’s theme this year is “Powered by Connection” which emphasizes the profound impact that meaningful interactions and social connections have on the well-being and health of older adults. This proclamation further urges residents to join in promoting programs and activities that foster connection, inclusion and support for older adults in Humboldt County.
The Board will also hear a brief update from the executive director of the Area 1 Agency on Aging.
