RECOMMENDATION(S):
Recommendation
That the Board of Supervisors:
1. Approve, and authorize the Chair of the Board to execute, the attached third amendment to the professional services agreement with SVT Gruppe, Inc. regarding the provision of security and secure transportation services for the period of July 1, 2016 through June 30, 2021;
2. Authorize the Department of Health and Human Services Director, or a designee thereof, to execute any and all subsequent amendments to the attached professional services agreement with SVT Gruppe, Inc. dated June 28, 2016, after review and approval by County Counsel, Risk Management and the County Administrative Office; and
3. Direct the Clerk of the Board to return one fully executed original copy of the attached third amendment to the professional services agreement with SVT Gruppe, Inc. to the Department of Health and Human Services - Contract Unit for further processing.

DISCUSSION:
The Humboldt County Department of Health and Human Services (DHHS) requires security guard services at various DHHS facilities to ensure safe living and working conditions for clients and staff. In addition, secure in-county and out-of-county transportation services are required to transport patients and clients to and from DHHS facilities.
Pursuant to the authority granted by the Humboldt County Board of Supervisors on May 10, 2016 (Item C-8), DHHS entered into the current professional services agreement with SVT Gruppe, Inc. regarding the provision of security and secure transportation services for the period of July 1, 2016 through June 30, 2018 on June 28, 2016.
