DISCUSSION:
The county is in a position to offer lower worker's compensation costs to local fire districts have allowed local fire districts to join the county's worker's compensation program since 2005 which has significantly helped rural communities to continue facilitating volunteer fire departments to help protect the community. Willow Creek Fire Safe Council, in an effort to help protect the community, wishes to participate in the program in order to afford part-time staffing to allow local projects to be completed which serves the community as a whole.
The attached memorandum of understanding (MOU) and resolution will need to be approved and executed by both parties to add Willow Creek Fire Safe Council. Upon approval of both items, the Risk Manager will complete the application process with the county's Insurance provider PRISM. Risk Management will send a letter to the Willow Creek Fire Safe Council each FY to collect their premium for participation within the program.
