RECOMMENDATION(S):
Recommendation
That the Board of Supervisors:
1. Receive and file the bid proposals submitted for the Briceland Thorne Road (F5A010) Post Miles 3.08 and 5.67 Storm Damage Repair Project;
2. Award the attached project agreement to GR Sundberg, Inc., for the total amount of $3,139,253.75;
3. Authorize the Chair of the Board to execute the attached project agreement with GR Sundberg, Inc., upon submittal of the appropriate bonds and insurance; and
4. Authorize the Public Works Director to execute contract change orders up to the amounts of $105,950 for Post Mile 3.08 and $76,015 for Post Mile 5.67.

DISCUSSION:
On March 21, 2023, the Humboldt County Board of Supervisors authorized the Clerk of the Board to advertise the Briceland Thorne Road (F5A010) Post Miles 3.08 and 5.67 Storm Damage Repair Project for bids. On May 2, 2023, the County of Humboldt received three (3) bids for the project, which are attached hereto as Attachment 1.

The Department of Public Works recommends that the Board of Supervisors receive and file the bid proposals submitted for the Briceland Thorne Road (F5A010) Post Miles 3.08 and 5.67 Storm Damage Repair Project; award the attached project agreement to GR Sundberg, Inc., for the total amount of $3,139,253.75; authorize the Chair of the Board to execute the attached project agreement with GR Sundberg, Inc., upon submittal of the appropriate bonds and insurance; and authorize the Public Works Director to execute contract change orders up to the amounts of $105,950 for Post Mile 3.08 and $76,015 for Post Mile 5.67.
