RECOMMENDATION(S):
Recommendation
That the Board of Supervisors:
1. Approve, and authorize the Chair of the Board to execute, the attached memorandum of understanding with the City of Arcata regarding the provision of community outreach services that are designed to assist and support individuals and families who are experiencing, or at risk of experiencing, homelessness in the City of Arcata for the period of March 20, 2022 through December 31, 2024;
2. Authorize the Department of Health and Human Services - Behavioral Health Director, or a designee thereof, to execute any and all subsequent amendments to the attached memorandum of understanding with the City of Arcata, after review and approval by County Counsel, Risk Management and the County Administrative Office; and
3. Direct the Clerk of the Board to return one (1) fully executed original copy of the attached memorandum of understanding with the City of Arcata to the Department of Health and Human Services - Contract Unit for further processing.

DISCUSSION:
On June 21, 2021 the City of Arcata was allocated funding through the American Rescue Plan Act, a portion of which the Arcata City Council set aside for the purpose of expanding local capacity to provide services and assistance to support the needs of individuals and families who are experiencing, or at risk of experiencing, homelessness in the City of Arcata.
