STRATEGIC PLAN:

This action supports the following areas of your Board’s Strategic Plan.

Area of Focus:  Safe & Healthy Communities

Strategic Plan Category:  9999 - Core Services/Other

DISCUSSION:

Supervisor Arroyo would like the Board of Supervisors to send a letter of support for Senate Bill 694, which strengthens consumer protections for California’s Veterans. This bill would prohibit unaccredited sources from charging for assistance for VA benefit claims, penalize for unauthorized access to veterans’ data on secure VA systems, and codify reasonable fee standards. This will allow Veterans the deserved transparent, qualified, accountable representation when navigating access to benefits.
